A stump left behind is a trip hazard, a home for borers and termites, and a spot you cannot use. We grind it out so the space is yours again.
We grind stumps from our own removals and from anyone else's. Old stumps, fresh stumps, rows of hedge stumps after a clear-out. The grinder goes well below the surface, the grindings are levelled or removed, and you can turf, plant or pave the same week.

Questions about this service
How deep do you grind?
Well below the surface, typically 200 to 300 millimetres, deeper if you are paving or building over the spot. That is enough to turf, garden or lay a path straight over the top.
Is stump grinding included in a removal quote?
It is quoted as a separate line so you can see the number and decide. Many people take both; some leave the stump for later. Either is fine.
Can you get the grinder into my backyard?
Our grinder fits through a standard side gate. If the stump is in a genuinely difficult spot, tell us at the quote; we have solved a few of those.
What happens to the grindings?
We can rake them back into the hole and level it, or remove them and leave you a clean spot. Grindings make reasonable mulch for garden beds.
